Winter Layering

Winter Layering

Autumn/Winter dressing allows us to really experiment in our look.  Winter layering is a key trend but also highly practical.

There are more options to add accessories and layers when the weather is cooler as pieces like hats and scarves are needed for practical reasons as well as adding a little colour and flair.

Dressing for warmth and practicality doesn’t mean we can’t still look chic and stylish though and here are my top tips on how you can layer like a pro this season…..

It is likely you’ll have a good collection of knitwear to choose from this season, hopefully in a variety of gorgeous colours from your dominant colour category so you can use these as the basis of your layered look.

With a V-neck jumper layer with lace camisole/vest tops to give a layer of warmth and a pop of colour in a contrast to the knitwear.

Accessorise with Scarves

A gorgeous scarf in a fabulous colour in your palette has got to be the easiest way to layer AND add colour, interest and texture into your outfit.

Be careful of the size of the scarf you choose, you need to consider the size/weight of your scarf in relation to you (so the more petite you are, the lighter the scarf you need and vice versa).

Scarves are also an inexpensive way of getting some of this season’s key colour trends into your wardrobe, like this green striped version from Oliver Bonas for £35.
